Introduction to the Role
TacSol, a leading manufacturer in the firearm industry, is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Accountant to join our team in Boise, Idaho. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health and stability of our company. As an Accountant at TacSol, you will manage a wide range of financial duties, from daily bookkeeping to preparing annual reports. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and efficient financial operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Revenue Reporting:
◦ Report on sales orders and shipped revenue.
◦ Provide regular updates on the company’s cash position.
Data Entry and Reconciliation:
◦ Record HYDRA data into QuickBooks (QB).
◦ Record and reconcile deposits.
◦ Reconcile bank accounts regularly.
Communication and Support:
◦ Reply to emails from vendors, customers, and internal team members.
◦ Provide support and training to employees as needed.
◦ Assist employees, vendors, and customers with financial inquiries.
Financial Review and Analysis:
◦ Meet with the President to review financials and cash position.
◦ Update receivables, follow up on past-due accounts, and issue customer
statements.
◦ Update financial forecasts and prepare financial reports.
◦ Prepare and distribute annual budget and update the 12-month cash flow
projection.
◦ Compare budget to actual results and provide analysis.
Tax Reporting and Compliance:
◦ Prepare and file excise tax reports and accruals.
◦ Manage sales and use tax reporting for Idaho and Texas.
◦ Ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements, including processing liability
payments, and preparing quarterly and annual payroll reports, including 1099s.
Payroll and Employee Benefits:
◦ Process payroll, including tracking hours and managing payroll liabilities.
◦ Update owner’s gross/net wages for current year health insurance selections.
◦ Obtain health insurance rates for the new year and conduct employee benefit
meetings.
Vendor and Customer Management:
◦ Pay bills promptly and accurately.
◦ Prepare and distribute rep commission reports.
Insurance and Compliance:
◦ Obtain general liability insurance quotes and handle year-end audits.
◦ Manage workers’ compensation quotes and audits.
◦ Complete the annual census and report to the Secretary of State.
◦ Prepare and submit the Annual OSHA Form 300.
◦ File property tax declarations.
